My own personal journey of living a fit life began over thirty years ago…

At 9 years-old I weighed 140 pounds!

I was an unstoppable eating machine. I would eat, and eat, and eat. I would sneak food whenever I could and go behind my mom’s back and pack extra snacks in my lunchbox. This happened to also be around the same time video games were becoming really popular. So, combine overeating with a lot of sitting and doing nothing and you have the perfect combination to gain a lot of weight very quickly.

I was heading towards a life full of stress, illness, disease, and quite possibly an early death!

Then something clicked…

I remember looking down one day and not being able to see my toes. For some reason that didn’t sit right with me. In fact, it upset me. I suddenly got sick and tired of being overweight and became determined to lose the extra pounds.

I began my weight loss journey with hardly any idea of what to do to see results. I reckoned doing more of what I was doing in gym class at the time would help, so everyday after school I would come home and do jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, and run in place. I also completely cutout the overeating and snacking on junk food. And wouldn’t you know it…

Six months later I had lost 50 pounds and could see my toes!
